James D. Meysenburg, CPA, CFP®

Jim is the founder and President of Sonas Financial Group, Inc. In 2002, he founded Sonas with the
goal of building a successful, boutique investment management and financial planning firm.
Jim enjoys working with all aspects of personal financial planning. He has extensive experience managing
investment portfolios for high net worth individuals and families. Jim also advises clients on matters
relating to income tax and estate planning. As the father of young children, he also has a special interest
in advising families on accumulating savings for the education of their children and grandchildren.
Jim is a 1992 graduate of Rockhurst University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a
Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner®. Jim began his career in the tax practice of
Ernst & Young, LLP. With a desire to move into the personal financial planning field, Jim was fortunate to
spend six years working with the professionals at Neill & Associates and BKD Wealth Advisors.
Jim is married and resides in Kansas City, MO with his wife and four children. He enjoys family time, running
and soccer. He also volunteers as a youth soccer coach for the Brookside Soccer League.
Eric C. Clark, AAMS, CFP®

Eric joined Sonas Financial Group, Inc. in 2005 and is currently Vice-President. Eric focuses his time on
investment management and financial planning activities related to our clients' needs. Additionally, he helps
maintain the firm's performance reporting software.
Prior to joining Sonas, Eric spent a combined four years in the individual income tax compliance, personal
financial planning and wealth management groups of both a global and a regional accounting firm. He also has
extensive experience implementing internet-based comprehensive financial planning and investment management
software for numerous financial institutions.
Eric graduated Cum Laude in 1999 from the University of Central Missouri with a BSBA degree in Accounting with
an emphasis on Personal Financial Planning. At the University of Central Missouri, he was a member of the
varsity baseball team and in 1997 was selected to the GTE Academic All-America® District Team.
Eric earned the CFP® designation in 2003 as recognized by the Certified Financial Planner® Board of Standards.
He also earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) designation in 2004 and is an active member of
the Financial Planning Association.
In his spare time Eric enjoys playing recreational sports and spending time with his friends and family.
He resides in Kansas City, MO with his wife and two children.
